Welcome to Tony Tomlinson Photography. I'm a landscape photographer based in Cumbria, thank you for stopping by my website and taking the time to come and find out more about the person behind the photographs.
I am a “born and bread” West Cumbrian, who has lived in West Cumbria all of my years.
During my early years I grew up in the village of Seaton (which was the largest village in England at one time), which is found on the western edge of the Lake District National Park, and now reside in the town of Maryport.
My interest in Photography spans many decades, initially I had a 35mm film camera, from where I learned how to developed my own films and prints.
When our Children arrived, my photography hobby was put in to hibernation for many years, it was not until my 40th Birthday when I was presented with a Canon digital camera that my photography genes were rekindled.
From this re-beginning I have developed my photography in to a serious hobby, we are regularly out in the landscapes of the Lake District, Scotland and Northumberland trying to capture those special images, I also enjoy photographing portraiture and families.
My camera equipment has evolved to meet my ever-changing photography needs, for many years I used Canon DSLR's and EOS lenses, this system then transitioned into the Canon mirrorless system and RF lenses. I then moved over to the OM (Olympus) mirrorless system, the methodology for the latest change was to save size and weight of the equipment that I was carrying in my backpack.
I also own a couple of medium format film cameras and a small selection of lenses to fit these cameras.
